Brain Health and Wellness Program
“Memory decline is not an inherent part of the aging process.”
Alzheimer’s disease is now the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States,
however, in the past 20 years, there have been a few scientific advancements in the
management and treatment of this insidious disease. Traditional drug treatment for
Alzheimer’s disease focused on a handful of medications to slow down the memory
decline. The issue with the current model is that most of the therapies designed for
the treatment focus on one therapy for the disease.
Alzheimer’s disease is not just one disease, it’s a spectrum of imbalances or a
“network” dysfunction of body systems. Cognitive decline is a brain health issue
that affects almost everyone either directly or with a loved one. It happens earlier
than you think.
The science behind cognitive decline is changing rapidly. In 2015, preventive or
reversing strategies were unheard of. Now, the Word Health Organization has
released its first version of preventative guidelines. The publication is supported by
extensive research including a study done by a neurologist, Dr. Dale Bredeson. The
goal was to determine if their lifestyles impacted their brain health — the results
were overwhelming. Studies, like Dr. Bredesons, described below have proven that
the best approach to brain health is a combination of conventional and integrative
medicines in order to prevent and potentially reverse cognitive decline.
Reversal of Cognitive Decline: 100 Patients The Journal of Alzheimer’s
Disease & Parkinsonism published a study in October 2018 by Dr. Bredesen.
It outlines 100 patients with cognitive decline who were assessed and treated
with this multi-component, precision medicine approach showing documented
cognitive improvement. From this study, Dr. Bredesen devised a protocol for
cognitive decline called ReCODE™ to help patients prevent and reverse
Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Kapoor is fully certified in the latest training program ReCODE™ 2.0 Protocol
for cognitive decline and is successfully treating patients for this condition. Based
on the Recode protocol, Dr. Kapoor will tailor-make a protocol that is designed for
patients who want to take an aggressive approach to deal with cognitive decline.
Dr. Kapoor pursued advanced training in Genomic Medicine with IntellxxDNA to help
guide him in determining the root causes of cognitive decline. Using this Clinical
Decision Support Tool, he is able to design and implement a precise treatment
protocol that improves outcomes in cognitive decline in some cases in less than six
months!
Dr. Kapoor co-authored an article with Dr. Sharon Hausman-Cohen demonstrating
how he utilized genomics to dramatically improve cognition in one of his own
patients in 6 months.

Outcomes: Proof of Concept Support for This Personalized Medicine

Dr. Kapoor is currently pursuing additional research opportunities in this novel
approach to cognitive decline and he looks forward to publishing more articles in
the future.
Dr. Kapoor is available via telemedicine and requires at least one in-person Initial
Visit to start, with follow-ups via telemedicine, as appropriate. If the participant is
out of state or out of the country, the participant is required to have a treating
primary care practitioner who can participate in the treatment protocol. The
participant will need to follow up in person at least once a year to continue the
participant/physician relationship.

“Dr. Kapoor has transformed doctor’s appointments from a chore to a pleasure. I love the the intimacy of the office and the knowledge that I’m being cared for, not just checked off a list of that day’s patients. Dr. Kapoor is as gifted with people as he is with medical issues. I feel blessed to have found him. And no one draws blood or gives shots more painlessly than Juan, by the way!”
